Preschool - Physical

Gross Motor Running, hopping, wiggling, throwing, marching – Preschoolers maintain attention for longer periods of time when their bodies are actively involved.  Our preschool curriculum continues to build individual physical ability on a daily basis through activities connected to natural science, math, literacy, the performing arts, and social emotional development.

Fine Motor Planting, building, drawing, cutting, lacing – Activities in the garden, on the floor, in dramatic play, at a table, or in the sandbox; throughout the course of the day, our preschoolers are challenged by a variety of activities which use and develop their fine motor coordination.

Self Care Washing, brushing teeth, dressing, toileting – Preschoolers are mastering these skills as they learn what they are capable of and how to ask for help.  Basic clean up responsibilities of the shared environment are also established with guidance and support.
